The project
The Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia is a technical body attached to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, with legal personality, administrative and financial autonomy, and its own assets. Its purpose is to ensure that the Financial System effectively contributes to the progress of businesses and individuals. Industry: Financial Services Primary project location: Colombia
The project's goal is to develop three services and software with their configuration, parameterization, integration, and support, to launch the model that optimizes the filing, processing, monitoring, and follow-up process.
The Challenge
Store, extract, and analyze the information resulting from this management using data science tools and location-based services. Globally scaled virtualized infrastructure for structuring and launching a Data Lake that allows the Financial Superintendence of Colombia to centralize all existing information.
The solution
External users connect through a load balancer. The domain root is served directly by the load balancer. There are three profile types, but all users connect directly. The load balancer distributes the corresponding traffic according to what can be configured or used in the different tools.
Project results
Have a Data Lake implemented on Google Cloud by 2022 that centralizes complaints, is scalable, and provides high availability.
The APIs used to validate addresses entered in complaints nationwide had to support free-form input. This means accepting the various abbreviations for Calles (calle, CL, Clle, Cll), Carreras (KR, Kra, Cr, Cra), Diagonales (DG, diag), Transversales (TV, trans, tranv, trvs), and other types such as Avenida Calle, Avenida Carrera, Circular, etc. It works very well.
