The challenge
Load large volumes of the company's historical information from its on-premises SAP HANA platform into GCP, and use Google Cloud services to analyze and process the uploaded data. The resulting information will give the company insights to answer business questions and overcome Línea Directa's current and future challenges.
The solution
Cloud VPN is used to connect to the on-premises SAP platform, then Cloud Data Fusion extracts the data and inserts it into BigQuery. Once in BigQuery, the information is processed with Spark in Cloud Data Proc, producing a BigQuery Dataset with refined, reliable data that can be queried using SQL.
Project results
Have a Data Lake implemented on Google Cloud by 2022 that centralizes data, is scalable, and provides high availability. This centralization enables data to be processed, modeled, and presented in a consolidated sheet to help Línea Directa define future Catalogs based on sales history.
