The project
Taxis Libres is a leading public transportation organization in Colombia, focused on providing a legal, safe, comfortable, and efficient service. It uses advanced technology, effective infrastructure, and qualified, committed staff. Its mission is continuous improvement to meet users' needs in nine Colombian cities.
Objective
The project's main goal is to improve the app experience for both passengers and drivers when managing taxi services, while optimizing taxi assignment to minimize waiting times and cancellations and deliver higher service quality.
The challenge
Improve the application experience for drivers and users by assigning taxis based on proximity and improving pickup-point accuracy, while providing navigation, route information, and estimated arrival time at the destination without requiring additional tools.
The solution
Use of Google Maps Autocomplete, Location Selection API to improve pickup point accuracy, Nearby Drivers for proximity-based vehicle assignment, Navigation SDK for driver navigation, as well as Driver SDK and Fleet Engine.
Project results
Improve the App experience for drivers and users by enriching trip-related information, while optimizing operations by shortening travel times, speeding up pickups, and improving driver allocation to reduce waiting times before boarding and cancellations of requests.
